Dr. Molli Mercer
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I earned my master’s degree in couples and family counseling and my doctorate in counselor education and supervision. During my work in my doctorate, I specialized in educating and training counselors about healthy expressions of sexuality and sex positivity. I have continued my research focus on sex and sexuality by continuing to publish, present, and teach on the topic in order to stay up to date with the latest methods and models. I am passionate about working with people to help them move toward the healthiest versions of themselves. Whether you are an individual struggling with anxiety or depression, a couple experiencing a loss of intimacy, or a child adjusting to life transitions, I can help you develop the best solutions to your problems.
If you and your partner have decided that it is time for a change and your relationship is no longer going to work, I can help with that as well. I am a Certified Family Court Mediator and a Certified Collaborative Divorce and Family Law Mental Health Professional. No person wants to be told how to live their life or how to raise their children. With effective mediation or a collaborative divorce, you can take control and set the path for the future of your family and not put it in the hands of a judge or a third-party arbitrator. The Collaborative Law Process Act (CLPA) went into effect in July 2017. This creates an alternative to litigation for family matters in Florida where couples enter into a voluntary settlement through negotiations rather than litigation in court. This means “Married couples in Florida now have a process in which they can divorce with dignity, privacy and without destroying their family,” said Edward Sachs CPA/ABV CFF, President of the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals. If you believe a collaborative divorce might be the best option for you, you can learn more about it at collaborativepracticeflorida.com and collaborativepros.com
If a collaborative divorce is not in your budget or does not best meet your family’s needs, mediation may be the better option. As a Certified Family Court Mediator, I work with couples to get through their divorce amicably and in the best interests of all parties involved. I can assist you along with attorneys or without. We will work together to develop a Parenting Plan and Marital Settlement Agreement that works for everyone and helps you avoid the courtroom.
